Poker Abbreviations and Acronyms - The UK Shark

A = Ace

Ax = An ace with any second card (off suit)

AXs = An ace with any second card (suited)

AO = Add On

BB = Big Blind or Big Bet depending on how it is used in sentence

BDFD = Back Door Flush Draw

BDSD = Back Door Straight Draw

BI = Bring In

BP = Bottom Pair

BR = Bank Roll

B&M = Bricks & Mortar: Playing at a poker club or casino as opposed to online

b/c = Bet Call to a raise

b/f = Bet Fold to a raise

CK = Check

c/c = Check Call

c/f = Check Fold

c/r = Check Raise

CO = Cut Off position immediately to the right of the dealer

DP = Draw Poker

DS = Double Suited (Omaha)

EP = Early Position

EPT = European Poker Tour

EV = Expected Value (+ or -)

EV- = Negative Expected Value

EV+ = Positive Expected Value

FE = Fold Equity

FH = Full House

FL = Fixed Limit

FLH = Fixed Limit Hold' em

FLO = Fixed Limit Omaha

FPP = Frequent Player Points

FPS = Fancy Play Syndrome

FR = Full Ring - Signifies a full ring table

FT = Final Table

GSSD = Gut Shot Straight Draw

GTD = Guaranteed where prize money of is guaranteed regardless of the number of entrants

HE = Hold 'Em

HH = Hand History

HL = High Limit Games

HORSE = A game that rotates through H - Holdem, O - Omaha hi/lo 8-or-better, R - Razz, S - Stud (hi only), E - Eight-or-better Stud hi/lo (all limit)
